Reader's Digest always said "Laughter is the Best Medicine" - so did Norman Cousins - and science is proving it so. It should be a great preventive medicine, as well. Especially healthy are those jokes that help us to laugh at ourselves. So this is a growing collection of what I feel is good medicine.

American education

November 3

I'm worried about the state of education in America when 51% of the country fails a one-question, open-book, multiple-choice test after having four years to study.

(Thanks Bruce!)

Here's a headline for you!

The Pope is visiting Washington, DC and Senator John F. Kerry takes him out for an afternoon on the Potomac, sailing on the Heinz family yacht. They're admiring the sights when, all of a sudden, the Pope's zucchetto (hat) blows off his head and out into the water. Secret service guys start to launch a boat, but Sen. Kerry waves them off, saying, "Wait, wait, I'll take care of this. Don't worry."

Kerry then steps off the yacht onto the surface of the water, and walks out to the Holy Father's hat, bends over and picks it up, then walks back to the yacht and climbs aboard. He hands the hat to the Pope amid stunned silence.

The next morning, the headlines in The Wall Street Journal, Washington Times, National Review, Weekly Standard, Orange County Register and the Fox News Network proclaim: "KERRY CAN'T SWIM!"

(Thanks Bruce!)

They still can smile!

A friend from Florida sent me this "post card" from the "sunshine state." After three hurricanes and a fourth threatening, it's good to see they haven't lost their sense of humor ;-) - Thanks Claire!

As Mike says; 'Have a spanking good time'

And from that advice and URL you can probably guess what this is all about.

http://www.spankbush.com/

Well, take a look. Then come back and ask me what i did. I mean, this is totally against what I've been preaching elsewhere. I'm against violence. I'm for trying to learn to understand people. George Bush is a person. If I am genuinely going to "be peace" I have to learn to love George Bush.

Right. Tomorrow, maybe. Mike knows me well enough to know I'd enjoy this site depite mu peaceful leanings.

Today I went to this site and spanked Dubya once. Felt good. So I spanked him again. Felt better. I clicked on some of the buttons along the side. More spanking. I tried the bare hand and the fish - but mostly the paddle. And then I found myself wailing away in rapid fire. That felt real good - until someone - the site's programmers, I think - grabbed my arm and said enough. You've had your fun. Now do something really effective.

OK, I'm sure there are people out there who are genuinely peaceful. I'm sure there are people who feel love towards all. That's my ideal. Honest. But the reality is, the more violent me is just below the surface and Ben ( of Ben and Jerry, the guy behind this site) sure knows how to bring it out.

Well, i honestly don' know what I've signed up for - and it may be a gimmick I don't like - but I gotta say, they hooked me with this intro. There's no harm in taking a look - you don' have to sign up. So smile, and go here:
